Ballet Arizona Presents “Mosaik” April 28-May 1 for Five Performances Only
Ib Anderson‘s acclaimed full-length original creation “Mosaik” is returning to the Orpheum Theatre, back by popular demand for five performances only, April 28 through May 1. The ensemble piece is based on themes of love, attraction and the human spirit, performed by Ballet Arizona dancers wearing dazzling red, gold, chartreuse and white costumes.
A creative genius and the artistic director for Ballet Arizona, Ib Anderson (also a former principal dancer with The New York City Ballet and The Royal Danish Ballet) not only choreographed and directed “Mosaik,” he also designed the costumes and sets, making this a true Ib Anderson masterpiece through and through. The ballet celebrates movement and the human body, and is danced to music composed by eight of the classical greats, including Brahms, Chopin, Berlioz, Schubert and Tschaikovsky.
The performance is a stunning visual experience, set against graphic, sculptural and colorful backdrops. Combined with expressive music and emotive choreography, the result is an intense ballet that powerfully relates the power of dance.
Performances will be April 28 (Thursday) at 7 p.m., April 29 (Friday) at 8 p.m., April 30 (Saturday) at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and May 1 (Sunday) at 2 p.m. Ticket prices range from $17 to $121, and discounts are available for students, seniors, children and groups. You can purchase tickets via ticketmaster.com/baz, or by calling the Ballet Arizona box office at 602.381.1096.
The historic Orpheum Theatre is located at 203 W. Adams Street in Phoenix
