3rd Annual Food Fight For Scleroderma – A Culinary Battle for a Good Cause

Join Chicago’s top celebrity chefs as they compete against each other in the 3rd Annual Food Fight for Scleroderma today Sunday, April 10, 2011. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on the 5th floor of Kendall College (900 North Branch Street), three of Chicago’s most recognizable chefs will have 30 minutes to cook one amazing dish in front of a live audience. Challengers include Rick Gresh, Executive Chef of David Burke’s Primehouse at The James Chicago, Stephanie Izard, Owner and Executive Chef of Girl & The Goat and Roger Herring, Owner and Executive Chef of Socca.
After the cook-off, guests and culinary experts (Michael Fiorello of Mercat a la Planxa, Tony Mantuano of Spiaggia and David Dworshak of Carnivale) will get to sample all three dishes and vote for the winner. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, samples of chef’s dishes, beer and wine, and will have a chance to purchase a raffle ticket to win a variety of prizes.
Food Fight for Scleroderma is an annual event that raises money for the Scleroderma foundation, a life-threatening, autoimmune disease with no cure. The research and support that the foundation provides is extremely important to thousands of people living with this disease. For more information about Scleroderma and the Scleroderma Foundation, visit www.scleroderma.org.
Food Fight for Scleroderma’s Annual Event was started by two sisters, who learned about the effects of scleroderma when their mother was diagnosed with the disease. “We are excited to continue awareness for this cause and supporting schleroderma patients while providing attendees with a fun culinary experience.”
Tickets for this event are priced at $65 when purchased in advances and $75 when purchased at the door if the supplies last. For more information about the event and ticket sales, visit www.chicagofoodfight.com.
