Spring’s Finest Footwear With Mo Saïque

This spring sees the launch of Mo Saïque, a new luxury London-based footwear label.

The designer behind the label is Afua Dabanka, a German-born Ghanaian city banker, who pursued her passion for shoes, turned it into reality and studied footwear design, at the London College of Fashion.

The capsule collection “Confessions of Global Nomad” includes 10 distinctive styles ranging from towering platforms to seductive T-Bar pumps, sassy wedges, super sexy sling-backs muted down with playful sandals, and the ballerina for everyday essentials and a warm weather off-duty look.

The intense shades of this inaugural capsule collection are timely As This season the intense shades of this inaugural capsule collection are no exception. Moving into spring each pair is the  perfect addition of colour to wardrobes heavy in greys and blacks and a welcomed addition for the woman who wants to stand out in the crowd.

Expect a bold colour palette of cerise pinks, hues of blues, cherry reds, and sexy tans. Materials include soft and supple calfskin suede and nappa leather that create sensual curves that elongate a woman’s body.

Afua draws creative inspiration for her designs from the extraordinary interplay of her unique background and her affection for pure luxe.

Her Ghanaian heritage is evident in the bold selection of colours that take meaning from ancient wisdom: the harmonious electric blues to the cerise pinks are associated with harmony and love and the female essence of life.

This, combined with a strong influence of Germany’s clean cut silhouettes, her savvy fashion sense, and Italian craftsmanship, has created a range that is full of character.

A personal touch is the brand’s signature Fern “Aya” on the sole of each shoe. This Ghanaian Adinkra symbol stands for endurance and resourcefulness.

It’s spring; say goodbye to your black, brown or beige winter boots and bring the fun and colour back to your feet.
