Rebecca Minkoff’s Expansion

Rebecca Minkoff launched a five-piece apparel line in 2001. Her first success came when an “I love New York” tee she designed made it onto Jay Leno and into a few magazines. In 2005, Rebecca took a shot at handbags, shifting her apparel focus to accessories. Her eponymous line has had serious success, and with four years of consistent growth under her belt, Rebecca returned to her initial love; designing clothing. Her Spring collection was small but definitely chic, and this Fall one (equipped with a Lincoln Center runway show) left me wanting more (and a wardrobe full of RM!). She’s mastered the pochette (bag pictured) and has hit upon the biggest color of the season, “poppy” (pictured above). Rebecca is surely a fashion designer that’s one to watch…all over again.
