Premiere of “More to Live For” April 3 for Dallas International Film Fest
As the Dallas International Film Festival arrives, many are scrambling to find which films are must-sees this year. Much like the South by Southwest festival, you want to iron out your game plan before you’re the only one who didn’t catch the unplugged set by The Strokes. Here’s a hint: check out the “More to Live For” premiere April 3 at the Northpark AMC. It’s a (mostly) local documentary based on the story of three lives shaken by cancer and completely dependent on the potential bone marrow match that could save them.
Director Noah Hutton, son of Timothy Hutton and Debra Winger, is behind this powerful, eye-opening film that has already begun garnering worldwide attention. The three profiled individuals are similar only in their fate and prolific accomplishments: Michael Brecker, 15-time Grammy winner, one of the greatest tenor saxophonists of all time; James Chippendale, entertainment executive and founder of The Love Hope Strength foundation, the largest music centric cancer charity in the world, and Seun Adebiyi, a young Nigerian training to become the first ever Nigerian winter Olympic athlete in any sport. Viewers watch as their lives become entangled in a desperate fight for survival and a singular mission: to bring awareness about bone marrow donation to the millions of people who could save a life today.
This will be a special evening, as it will be the first time the director, the producers and the subjects will be watching the film together. After the premiere, an after- party will be held at the Post-Op Studios in the Quadrangle. Proceeds from the event will go to the Love Hope Strength Foundation to fund cancer projects around the world.
