Mismatched: Fall 2011 Fashion Trends

As the European shows are dwindling, it’s time to brush up on all of my Fall 2011 fashion trends. I was present at a majority of the shows during New York Fashion Week, but the European shows I sit out. Now… it’s time to play catch up. This weekend in between my early Saturday am class at Soul Cycle Tribeca, brunch with my best college girl friends, and dinner at L’Artusi (staple West Village fave Italian spot), I plan on intently studying Style.com to take in all of the runway looks from the majors and up and coming, one day majors. I look at the makeup, tights (on the sheer side), heel height and handbag styles, all key elements integral to establish a complete look. Here’s a sneak peek of a trend that Fall is all about: the blending of different colors and fabrics. Louis Vuitton (top right), Miu Miu (bottom) and Valentino (top left) are prime examples of what’s haute. My pale blue patent Manolo maryjanes and emerald metallic Lanvin pumps WILL be making cameos this Fall–probably paired with salmon and amethyst. Take that “matchy matchy!”
