Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta Announces Special Guest Designer, Jason Wu

Jason Wu, who has become a household name simply because one of his client’s happens to be the First Lady, was just announced as the special guest designer for this year’s Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta.

This is the young designer’s second time bringing his New York sophistication down south for Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta, the first time being only two years ago at the 2009 event. For JFC founder, Jeffrey Kalinsky, bringing Jason Wu back to Atlanta was a no brainer after seeing his breathtaking Fall/Winter 2011 collection which Kalinsky called “one of the most beautiful collections of Fall/Winter 2011.” To celebrate his return to Atlanta’s most fashionable charity event of the year, Jeffrey Atlanta in Phipps Plaza will be hosting a two day trunk show featuring Jason Wu’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection today and tomorrow, March 24-25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Founded by acclaimed Atlanta and New York retailer, Jeffrey Kalinksy, Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta will makes its 19th annual walk down the runway once again in a stunning high-rise in the 12th & Midtown development at Peachtree and 12th Street.

Also returning for this highly anticipated event that includes a pre-show reception and a fashion show featuring styles from guest designer Jason Wu, are Co-Chairs Louise Sams, Jeffrey McQuithy and Lila Hertz. The spirited threesome promises to help carry on Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta’s legacy as the Southeast’s most prestigious fundraiser by presenting just as many exciting initiatives as they for last year’s event which raised $650,000 and donated $.93 of every dollar to Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Greater Atlanta Affiliate and the Atlanta AIDS Fund. This year, in addition to continuing Jeffrey Fashion Cares’ status as one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country, a small donation will also be made to the Medical University of South Carolina’s Inflammation and Fibrosis Research Center of Excellence.

The 19th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta will take place on Monday, August 29, 2011. For more information on the event, including patron and corporate sponsorship opportunities go to www.jeffreyfashioncares.com or call 404.420.2997.
