Japan Relief Menu at Sunshine Moon Peking Pub

For three consecutive days, April 1-3, Chinese restaurant Sunshine Moon Peking Pub in downtown Scottsdale will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds from a special menu to benefit Red Cross tsunami and earthquake efforts in Japan.

Friday through Sunday, Sunshine Moon Peking Pub will be offering a Japan Relief Menu consisting of Japanese-influenced dishes which Executive Chef Emilio Morales has created as a tribute to the citizens of Japan. The five-course meal will feature miso soup, sunomono salad (pickled cucumbers), tempura squash blossoms with citrus ponzu, seared tuna tataki, and saikyo miso cod.

“I have friends, family and colleagues whose loved ones have been affected by this natural disaster. Some still not accounted for,” Morales says. “Being able to help in any capacity is an honor to me.”

The cost for this special five-course meal will be $20 per person, and the restaurant, owned by Dr. Julie Chandler and Rich Sullivan, will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds to the Red Cross, to be used toward providing aid in Japan.

The American Red Cross is a nonprofit organization — not a government agency — and relies on volunteers and the public’s generosity in order to carry out its work, including providing shelter, food and emotional support to victims of disasters.

Sunshine Moon’s hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. (T-Th: 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; closed Monday)

Sunshine Moon Peking Pub is located at 4175 N. Goldwater Blvd. in Scottsdale 480.699.8807
