Hautels: Fine Jewelry Meets Hotel Luxury with Alexis Bittar’s St. Regis Collection
by Delilah Smith

What does it take to become an internationally respected, plush five-star hotel? The most pristine of accommodations. Comfortable rooms with excellent services. Beautiful surroundings, and…their own personal jewelry collection? Sounds extraordinary? Well the St. Regis New York is getting a leg up on the luxury hotel streamline with the formation of the St. Regis Collection of personalized and stunning jewelry, created by Alexis Bittar to spark their “Coming of Age” celebration, as they are opening their 21st hotel, the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico.

As one of the most astounding and influential jewelry makers of the nation, Alexis Bittar has produced a most phenomenal collection of shimmering pieces, and as a native of New York, he knows a thing or two about high-style extravagance. Like all successful jewelry collection, the line is equipped with shining earrings, opulent bracelets and brooches, and magnificent necklaces. But unlike other jewelry collections, this particular one has the essence and inspiration of one of the most stylistic icons of the day; mother to John Jacob Astor IV (Founder of St. Regis), Caroline Astor, the St. Regis’ founding patroness.

With the creation of the St. Regis Jewelry Collection, Bittar pays homage to Caroline Astor’s previous jewelry line by combining Caroline’s love of beautiful pearls and diamonds with her love of exquisite textures, colors, forms, and lights. Always remembering to make his mark, Bittar makes sure to leave his signature Lucite on each piece of jewelry, rather if it is a deluxe crystal necklace, or a pair of graceful, pearl earrings.  “It was great fun to explore and delve into Caroline Astor’s own jewels and create a collection in honor of her style” Alexis Bittar says. “I am thrilled to partner with the St. Regis and celebrate with them as they open their twenty-first hotel”. With the stunning and high-status jewelry that he is producing in honor of the hotel, it is no doubt that St. Regis is also thrilled to be involved in such a collaboration.

The St. Regis Collection is currently available at all Alexis Bittar stores nationwide and online at www.alexisbittar.com. The St. Regis Collection necklace retails for $490, and set of earrings retails for $310, while the broach retails for $385.
