Haute Time: Geneva Beckons You, and So Do Cyrus and Lotus
So, here’s my avant-garde timepiece of the week: the Kuros from watchmakers Cyrus, out of Geneva, Switzerland. This is a new collection to me, but one that has impressed me with its unique aesthetic, use of materials and is a collection that is driven by strong design concepts.
Just look at the silhouette of this baby…It’s got that sleek, automotive profile, one that evokes speed, low drag and more. If I may be so bold, I’m even inclined to propose that this timepiece be married up with the Lotus Evora (pictured below).
If you happen to be at the Geneva Auto Show in March, you can appreciate the Lotus “in the flesh”, and then possibly take a Cyrus timepiece for a ride as well. Enjoy!!
Abbreviated specs for the Kuros by Cyrus:
• automatic chronograph movement with an indication of hours, minutes, seconds, calendar
• limited series of188 pieces for both iterations of this piece
• titanium fabrication; (polished, satin, sandblasted)
• chronometer function: large central second hand with the CYRUS logo at its base
• indication of hours and minutes of the chronograph with the CYRUS logo at 4.30
• date reading in a large aperture at 12 o’clock
• available with white or black dial
• 44mm case diameter (including crowns)
• case back displays a CYRUS registered logo with an open escapement movement
• 37 hour power reserve
