Haute Fashion: London Shopping at its Finest
by HauteLiving
Carnaby Street, London

London upholds its very own reputation as perhaps the most fashionable, cultural and diverse city in the world for very good reason. Here a spa day may be combined with a photo shoot and a day’s shopping for the ultimate in urban luxury. The sprawling enclaves of museums, restaurants and art galleries expanding outwards from Charing Cross and the square mile to far beyond into the expanding reaches of Shoreditch and Dalston, twinned with quaint market-stall-lined streets in Notting Hill and Shepherd’s Bush, provide a whole host of attractions for those in search of an exciting day out.

For those in search of that lucrative shopping trip, a good place to start would be a tube ride to Oxford Circus. Whatever you are in search of, it is well worth having a walk around the giant stores that occupy key places on the famous Regent Street/Tottenham Court Road junction. Perhaps getting lost in the various levels in Topshop takes your fancy, or even a technological make-over in Regent Street’s brand new Apple store, topped off with designing your own exclusive pair of Nike ID trainers in Nike Town.

The area is also home to the chic Australasian boutique Antipodium, where intrepid shoppers can find anything from sportswear to eveningwear. The nearby Kokon To Zai awaits those looking to make a statement. The Macedonian designer Marjan Pejoski, creator of Bjork’s swan dress, fresh graduate designers, and the store’s own label KTZ ensure an exclusive look for those who venture through the doors.

After a spot of lunch at a cafe on Carnaby Street, the more avant-garde shopper can head over to Covent Garden, where smaller boutique stores, such as the classy boutique Santos & Mowen, which stocks choice items from a range of European designers, stand alongside household names within the upper echelons of high-end fashion outlets, such as Chloé and Marc Jacobs.
