Haute Event: Wine Tasting Wednesdays at the Boston MFA
by Kate Dempsey-Stouffer

On the last Wednesday of every month, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts hosts “Winesdays” in their on-site restaurant, Bravo. With each new month comes a new featured winery, and new bottles to sample. This month’s  tasting, which will take place this Wednesday, March 30, is Latin-themed to coincide with the end of the MFA Fiesta celebration.

MFA Fiesta has been a month-long celebration of Latin American art and culture at the museum. Its inspiration was the variety of new art by Central and South American artists on display in the Art of the Americas Wing. Special events have included Latin American book readings for toddlers, music, film screenings, and a celebrity lecture by acclaimed author Julia Alvarez. Celebrity chef Ken Oringer even created a unique tasting menu for the museum’s New American Café, with dishes inspired by the cuisines of Mexico and Central America.

The Fiesta wine tasting will include gourmet hors d’oeuvres and featured wines and cheeses from Central and South America.

MFA Winesdays are held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and cost $25 per person. Even if you can’t make it to the tasting, Bravo restaurant is always open for you to stop by and order a glass of wine after a stroll through the exhibits. The restaurant even features a rotating selection of artwork from around the museum, so you can sip while you scrutinize!

Reservations at Bravo can be made on Opentable or by calling the restaurant at 617.369.3474. No reservations are needed for the Winesdays events.
