Haute Event: Tim Gunn at Fashion Island

You’ve seen him on Project Runway telling would-be designers to make it work, to mitigate and to edit down their ideas, but now you’ll have your chance to see him in person when Tim Gunn presents the best of spring’s sartorial offerings at Fashion Island on April 16th. He’s teamed up with the Liz Claiborne, Inc., boutiques at the center to put on a fashion show and give tips on looking your best. Make room in your schedule and you’ll definitely be “in.”

More than just a co-host, Tim Gunn is a mentor and confidante on Project Runway. Since he’s been with Liz Claiborne, Inc. as Chief Creative Officer, though, he’s been bringing that same mentorship and friendship to women everywhere with his book Gunn’s Golden Rules and articles in Elle, Marie Claire and more. And like at his position as Honorary Chair at Parsons: the New School for design, he’ll be bringing the same sage advice when he showcases the latest from Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand Jeans and Kate Spade during a fashion presentation in the Neiman Marcus/Bloomingdale’s courtyard at 1:00 p.m. He’ll be explaining how the new spring pieces can be integrated into any wardrobe and explain the importance of proportion, fit and personal style.

Be sure to get there early, since there’ll be no reserved seating at the event. But for true Gunn fans, shoppers can get a professional photo with the style guru. Just spend a total of $150 at the Liz Claiborne, Inc. boutiques at Fashion Island.
