Haute Event: Maria Sharapova and Sony Ericsson Unveil Xperia Hot Shot Contestants
by Daniela Rodriguez

Sony Ericsson unveiled the six tennis players who have been chosen to be a part of its “Xperia Hot Shots” show during a special star-studded event held at the Surfcomber Hotel in Miami Beach on Sunday.
As a way to promote women’s tennis, Sony Ericsson will sponsor the Women’s Tennis Association, Xperia Hot Shots, a web-based TV show that will follow the lives of six tennis players as they go on a worldwide competitive tour. Sony Ericsson will help the players in getting to be known and growing an online fan base by giving them exclusive access to the worlds of fashion, music, film, and gaming. Whoever gains the largest fan base on Facebook will win a Sony Ericsson support deal.
Florida TV celebrity Louis Aguirre and Sony Ericsson brand ambassador, Maria Sharapova, joined the contestants on stage, which featured a 36-foot tall Facebook page, followed by a 90-minute set by Hip-hop music legend DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Based on having a great personality, their potential on and off the court, and their desire to connect with fans through social media, Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA), Heather Watson (UK), Alize Cornet (France), Sabine Lisicki (Germany), Sorana Cirstea (Romania) and Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia), were the six girls chosen as Xperia Hot Shots.

The first show of Xperia Hot Shots will begin today, March 21, airing on a dedicated Youtube channel. An Xperia Hot Shots Facebook page will keep fans updated on the six girls.
