Haute Event: Derek Hough Teaches a Dance Class and Hines Ward Celebrates His Birthday at the Palms

Hines Ward, Kym Johnson and Derek Hough

Three-time “Dancing With The Stars” champion Derek Hough spent the weekend at the Palms. On Friday, Hough dined at Nove Italiano, where he met Executive Chef Geno Bernardo and
signed his famous shakedown door before heading up to Moon Nightclub where he hosted for the evening. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward stopped by Moon as well.

Also spotted in Playboy Club was actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, who starred on “The Cosby Show” as a child.

On Saturday, Hough, in conjunction with the Clark County School District School-Community Partnership Program and Fine Arts Program, taught an exclusive dance lesson to 15 students from various CCSD middle schools and high schools in the Lounge at Palms. The 15 students performed a dance number to the likes of Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way” and received one-on-one instruction from Hough.

Current contestants on “Dancing With the Stars” Ward and his partner Kym Johnson also made a special appearance during the dance lesson.

Later that night, Ward celebrated his birthday at N9NE Steakhouse with a large group of 16, which included retired halfback for the Pittsburgh Steelers Jerome Bettis. The two dined on bone-in New York steak, rock shrimp, sashimi and mac and cheese.

Also dining in the restaurant was Pulliam with 11 friends as well as singer Terius “The-Dream” Nash, who enjoyed an intimate in the private dining room with seven others.

Following their dinner, Ward, Bettis and friends made their way upstairs to Moon Nightclub.  They enjoyed the scene from their VIP table where they sipped on mixed cocktails. Ward was presented with a birthday cake, specially designed with the Pittsburgh Steelers colors, black and yellow. Joining them at the table was New York Jets wide receiver and former Steelers team mate Santonio Holmes.
