Have you ever had dreams of fighting Darth Vader or being friends with robots like R2D2 and C3PO that it almost felt like it was real?

A family in Honolulu, Hawaii decided to give a Star Wars theme to their 20-by-14-foot home theater in their roughly 10,000-square-foot contemporary mansion. And they sure did not leave a single detail out. Built as a tribute to Star Wars, Modern Home Systems in San Diego designed and installed the audio and video systems for the room. But with some help of Acoustic Innovations, located in Boca Raton, they went wild with the Star Wars concept. They incorporated life-size R2D2 and C3PO robots that talk, a three-dimensional fiber optic starfield on the ceiling, and acoustical paneling designed to resemble the doors of a spaceship.

They also were able to do the daunting task of creating a clean aesthetic to the room by cleverly hiding all the equipment and cables from sight. The Runco DLP projector, as well as the subwoofers and speakers, were all hidden to help ensure the room looked clutter-free. The anamorphic 107-inch Stewart Filmscreen display helps hide most of it. Intended for easy control, the homeowners wanted to be able to control everything with just the press of one button. Using a touchpanel, the owners are able to cue up the movie, switch between lighting effects and adjust the temperature. And it all can be turned off with the SYSTEM OFF button and everything, including the talking robots and light fixture will shut down.
