If you’re craving some great Italian and are looking to stock up for your cellar, there’s no better plan than to head to one of Prego’s wine dinners. They never disappoint and you know you’ll always be getting the best of the best. On Mar. 4th, they’ll be hosting the Tour d’Italia with Masi Vineyards, so make sure you’ve cleared a few spots in your stash for a new favorite wine.
Masi has been recognized for having “revolutionized the art of wine-making in the Veneto,” and for just $54.95 per guest, you’ll be able to enjoy five of their best wines with the great food offered by Prego’s Chef Allesina. Dinner will start with assorted antipasti paired with Masi Modello Delle Venezie and then followed with eggplant with a roasted pepper puree paired with Masi Masianco Pinot Grigio/Verduzzo. Next, diners can enjoy crepes filled with cheese and mushrooms paired with Ripasso Rosso del Veronese and pan-seared scallops in lobster saffron sauce with with Brolo di Campofiorin. Lastly, the meal ends with a cheesecake paired with dessert wine and a Kahlua cream Englaise. With so many different tastes throughout, you’re sure to find a few surprises and come out with great ideas for your own home cellar.
Prego Ristorante is located at 18420 Von Karman Ave., in Irvine. For more information or to make reservations to the Tour d’Italia, call the restaurant directly at 949.553.1333 or visit their official web site at www.pregoristoranti.com.
