Haute Dining: Perch Arrives at Pershing Square Building in May

Coly Den Haan and Rachel Thomas on the Perch Rooftop
Las Vegas is beginning to reopen its infamous set of outdoor playgrounds; Downtown Los Angeles is quick to follow. But, this year don’t expect just the usual rooftop suspects to welcome an overwhelming amount of patrons in search of a night under the stars. A few new “kids” are expected in town, including Perch, located inside the age-old Pershing Square Building.
This May, partners Rachel Thomas and Coly Den Haan (The Must wine bar) will introduce their French-American brainchild to Downtown’s social scene with a three-story, indoor/outdoor destination. With various dining and entertainment spaces, a rooftop bar, and classic French bistro fare, the establishment has officially altered the Downtown skyline. Thomas and Haan added the top two stories onto the historical structure for the pure joy of bringing their all-glass, towering vision to life.
“It’s a French girl in an American dress,” says Haan.
Even though extensive menus of Armagnacs and Cognacs will be offered all throughout the night, you won’t find businessmen and businesswomen acting overly proper in a stuffy atmosphere here. Instead you’ll find them donning jeans, sipping cocktails around a fire pit, and taking in burlesque and cabaret performances amidst a sea of playful deco-inspired décor.
Perch will be open seven days a week from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. To make a reservation or book a private event, email info@perchla.com.
Pershing Square Building is located at 448 South Hill St.
