Superwoman

Up until last week, Betty Graham was the president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the greater Los Angeles area. Just recently, Graham was promoted to president of the Coldwell Banker Previews International and now responds to all of the presidents and local operating compasses across NRT. Her goal in this new and exciting position is to assess the needs of the affluent real estate world and to enhance and celebrate the fantastic success of her luxury brand.

Betty Graham has over 30 years experience in the real estate profession. Her successful career began in 1976 as a top-producing agent in Malibu, where she represented such luminaries as Rod Steiger, Dustin Hoffman, Charles Bronson, George C. Scott, Cecily Tyson, Cleavon Little, LeVar Burton, Madonna, Sean Penn, plus five transactions with the legendary Johnny Carson. In 1990, Graham introduced Jon Douglas Company to San Francisco and opened their Pacific Heights office as regional vice president of the company. In 1997, Jon Douglas Company merged with NRT under the name Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Graham believes her most honorable role in her profession is to serve as a grounding force in what is one of the most important financial and emotional decisions in a client’s life. Graham insists that, “the most enjoyable aspect of the profession is the creative process that exists behind every sale of matching the right buyers with the right sellers.”

Graham has received many awards, including Manager of the Year, twice. The Los Angeles Business Journal has noted the top-grossing Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as the number one real estate company in the nation for many years. However, the most moving honor Betty tells us is the one she received in 2004 for her charity, A Place Called Home. This is an organization based in South Central Los Angeles, which provides an after school retreat for people that need a place to go and have a zest for learning. Computer, dance, theater, and guitar (just to name a few) lessons are available for children to help them grow and express their creativity.

A typical day in the office for Graham, the face of the luxury division at her company, consists of interviews and calls from managers and presidents across the NRT footprints who invite Betty to address their sales staff.  They are interested in the secrets to her success, which she shares, “is the connections between the engaged agents and their clients.” Also having the well being of your client always top of mind is a must. Growing up in a family of eight, Graham believes that the key to success is the belief in the culture of the family as a team. Graham is extremely proud of Coldwell Banker Previews International for their philosophy of doing the right thing while delivering truly remarkable service.
