Alonzo Mourning Receives the Don Shula Sports Legend Award at the Reid and Fiorentino Call of the Game Dinner and Golf Classic

The Reid and Fiorentino Call of the Game Dinner and Celebrity Golf Classic was held last week successfully raising funds benefiting Lauren’s Kids and the Dade Schools Athletic Foundation.
Wednesday’s golf game held at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club was greeted by blue, cloudless skies and a bevy of eager golfers ready to get on the course and show their skills to their celebrity captains. Alonzo Mourning was one of those captains looking especially dapper for a round of golf.
Friday’s dinner and live auction gave guests the opportunity to bid on jewelry and watches, vacation packages to Hawaii and Anguilla, a walk on role in Burn Notice and one week at the Michael Jordan Flight School basketball camp. The evening saw a who’s who of sports and community starts come out and give their support including Haute 100 Pat Riley, Coach Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Mike Dee and Nat Moore of the Miami Dolphins.
The evening hit its high note with an awards ceremony recognizing those who have really made a difference in their community including Alonzo Mourning who received the Don Shula Sports Legend Award and Dr. Barth Green, Chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at University of Miami and President/Co-founder of Project Medishare, and his daughter, Jenna Green, who received the Community Service Award for their outstanding work in Haiti.
