Haute Event: Valentino to Host Third Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon

Want a chance to help protect one of Miami’s treasured historical places and view a fashion show by one of the most renowned designers in the world? On Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, The Vizcayans, along with Italian fashion house Valentino, will host the Third Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

As a way to preserve what is Vizcaya today, Norma Quintero founded the Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon, an event that has been done annually to safeguard the endangered landmark. Fondly referred to as the “hat luncheon,” this year’s event will emulate the traditional chic daytime events that were customarily held in the formal Italianate gardens during Vizcaya’s early years as a public museum.Women are invited to wear their most chic daytime hats and dress elegantly, as well as the men. A Black River Caviar Reception will be held at 11 a.m. to welcome guests with cocktails and enjoy the view of the infamous gardens of Vizcaya. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., a luncheon will be provided as well as a fashion show that will include Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

Not only do you get a chance to see beautifully constructed garments by Valentino and help out in a cause for the good will of Miami, but be a part of a raffle drawing for a one-week stay in a private guest house at La Foce in southeast Tuscany. A live auction for a $5,000 shopping spree and a private luncheon for 10-12 ladies catered by Thierry’s Catering at the Valentino Boutique at the Bal Harbour Shops. Tickets are $275 for individuals.
