Haute Event: South Beach Wine & Food Festival Presents Dim Sum and Disco Tonight at The Setai South Beach
by Elizabeth Samson

As the 2011 South Beach Wine & Food Festival continues to delight foodies everywhere with fun-filled events and delectable creations prepared by some of the best chefs in the world, The Setai South Beach will be hosting Dim Sum & Disco tonight, February 25, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Two worlds will collide as fusion-forward Chef Ming Tsai and the Setai’s award-winning executive Chef David Werly set the scene with traditional Chinese light fare, otherwise known as dim sum, for people to graze on throughout the night as they dance non-stop to DJ-spun ’70s and ’80s era disco music. The oceanfront Art Deco hotel will serve as the perfect backdrop for this event, as much of its décor was taken from Asian inspiration, bringing an element of elegant simplicity to an otherwise fast paced night.

Joining Chef David Werly for this event are an impressive group of local chefs including Keyvan Behnam of China Grill SOBE in Miami Beach, Richard Hales of Sakaya Kitchen in Miami, Joseph Maynard of Asia de Cuba in Miami Beach, and Gregory Yu of Tropical Chinese in Miami, as well as Joe Ng of RedFarm in New York.

With a diverse group of talented chefs preparing small treats, like buns, dumplings, and spring rolls, packed with big flavors that will be going out perpetually as the night goes on, attendees will be able maintain all the energy they need to enjoy a night of disco revival while reveling in the classical tastes of Asian cuisine.
