Haute Event: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Auction Launch Party

On Feb. 2, SFMOMA held its annual Auction Launch Party, which was held for the Benefactor and Patron ticketholders. While guests received a special VIP cocktail reception, they got to view the private collection of Stuart and Gina Petersons at ARTIS Capital Management, as well as artworks from the auction.
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is widely known for representing an outstanding variety of work by distinguished artists all over the country. They are excited to hold their biennial Art Auction at the museum on April 6, 2011. Organized by the Modern Art Council (MAC), this highly anticipated auction will include photography, paintings, and works on paper that are donated artists and galleries from different parts of the country.

This occasion will hold both live and silent auctions during the course of the evening. Works by John Baldesarri, Mark Bradford, Vija Clemens, Dave Muller, Richard Serra, and Chuck Close, all artists who have contributed to this auction have had long associations with The Museum of Modern Art.
The purpose of the art auction is to bring together artists, supporters, and art itself- all of the essential fundamentals that make up the SFMOMA. This event assures to open your eyes to fresh, new, and exciting works of art, as well as the eyes of collectors everywhere.
Some highlights of the live auction will the Richard Serra’s drawing Track’s #30, estimated at a grand total of $200,000, as well as Ewan Gibbs San Francisco, estimated at $10,000.

Benefactor tickets cost $1,000 a person, while Patron tickets are $700, and $350 for general admission. There are also a limited number of tables for six available at $7,500.
Guaranteed to be a lively and fulfilling night, the auction will begin at 5 p.m. for Benefactor and Parton-level supporters, who will be fed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and early access to the items for sale. At 6 p.m., McAll Associates will provide general ticket holders hors d’oeuvres, and several food stations. With the live auction starting at 7 p.m., this night is not to be missed.
