Russian Fashion Week Changes Name To Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia

Fashion Week has already kicked off in New York. And fashion news is flowing from different parts of the world.
It was confirmed that Russian Fashion Week is partnering up with the automobile company Mercedes-Benz. This week a contract was signed between Juergen Sauer, Mercedes-Benz Russia CEO and Alexander Shumsky, the general producer of Russian Fashion Week, reported by Russian press. This partnership will change Russia Fashion Week’s name to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
The title Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is almost synonymous with New York Fashion Week, but it is also the title of German Fashion Week (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin) and Miami’s (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami). This is another step forward for RFW management who plan to establish Moscow as a main player in the world’s fashion scene. It is already counted as the most important fashion event in all of Eastern Europe where former Soviet Union designers and prominent international ones show their collections; it is the premier platform and getaway for designers in Russia.
The upcoming Russian Fashion Week under new name will take place in the end of March in the Congress-Hall of World Trade Center. Organizers have assured that there will be no further changes in the format of the event and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will be a strictly by invitation only affair.
