On Friday, Larry Gagosian had a luncheon at his house, showing Richard Prince’s work. Fabiola Beracasa, Derek Blassberg, Barry Gesser, Aby Rosen, Tico Mugrabi, katie Robbins and Simon Ruben, Chris Bass, and Desiree Gruber were all there along with a bunch of different art collectors from all over the world.
Later that evening there was so many pre-Oscar parties going on. Some people went to Ari Emanuel’s WME party in Brentwood; some to Bryan Lourd’s CAA party in Bel-Air; and some to Dennis Basso’s birthday party.
Then it was off to Nicolas Berggruen’s party at Chateau Marmont with Stavros Niarchos, Aby Rosen, Russell Simmons, Lady Victoria, Ozlem Onal, Lucas White, Nellee Hooper, Vikram Chatwal, Justin Murdock, Alex von Furstenberg, and hundreds of other guests.
Then finally we went to Ally Bernstein’s James Franco event at his new bar, Writer’s Room. There were a ton of celebs, but no photos were allowed in there.
And of course, what’s a late night out in L.A. without a trip to In-N-Out!

More than 800 Valley society members turned out for the 2011 Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation Honor Ball this month. Held in The Phoenician Resort Grand Ballroom, the event celebrated its 35th year and benefited the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare.
Each year the Honor Ball recognizes an individual, couple or group who made a vital impact on Scottsdale Healthcare. On Feb. 5, Ed and Natalie Gaylord were celebrated as the 2011 Honorees for their dedicated community service, philanthropy and support of Scottsdale Healthcare, including the new Gaylord Family Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center. Ed also serves on the Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees and is a chair of the Scottsdale Healthcare Community Cancer Advisory Committee.
The ballroom was decorated in jade green and coral for the occasion, and guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner before taking to the dance floor to the tunes of the Jacqueline Foster Orchestra. Additional VIPs in attendance included former Vice President Dan Quayle, Congressman David Schweikert, Congressman Ben Quayle, State Representative Eric Meyer, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane and Barrett-Jackson Auction CEO Craig Jackson.
The black tie event has raised more than $9 million to support patient and community services at Scottsdale Healthcare. And opened in 2001, the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare was the city’s first major cancer center offering comprehensive cancer treatment, research, diagnosis, prevention and support services in a single location.

It was a purple and pink wonderland last night atop the beautiful Herzog & de Mueron building at 1111 Lincoln Road as guests and celebrities came out in hoards to celebrate the sweetest sold out event at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s, Let Them Eat Cake. The over the top cakes, which paid homage to the 10th anniversary of the festival, artistically impressed as well as hit the sweet spot.
Hosted by Emeril Lagasse and Martha Stewart and sponsored by Moet Chandon, the 500+ guests in attendance were treated to an endless array of sweets by top pastry mavens like Duff Goldman, Jacques Torres, Lori Karmel, Sweet Street Desserts and Ron Ben-Israel who was spotted dancing with a Carnaval dancer during a special performance around 11 p.m. Other surprises included ice sculpting demonstrations and acrobatic performances atop Marie Antoinette inspired chandeliers.
Cake balls, cupcakes, and slices were paired with specialty cocktails by Moet Chandon, Hennessy, and Grand Marnier. Danny Meyer, of Shake Shack, also made a quick appearance, and burgers from the outpost were passed to curb the sugar highs. DJ Danny Stern provided the night’s musical entertainment and two of the city’s top cigar houses were in house giving out samples of the smooth digestif. Apart from the hosts and Lee Schrager, celebrities in attendance included Debbie Mazar, Tedd Allen, Fabio Viviani, Wylie Dufresne, Bob Tuschman, and Hedy Goldsmith. The event was a great celebration of the spirit of the Festival and for what’s to come in the next decade, meaning it’s only going to get bigger and sweeter from here.

Last week, the Palm Beach International Raceway had a treat. Racing down the track was multi Grammy Award-winning singer, Jon Secada, best known for his songs Angel, Just Another Day, and If You Go. Secada was there enjoying the cars for “An Evening on the Track: Lou La Vie Presents Race Car Experience Palm Beach.”
While Secada enjoyed cruising in luxury cars which were provided by Miami’s leading exotic car rental brand, Lou La Vie, he rode up in his black Mercedes-Benz ready for the action to begin. Once he arrived, all stops were pulled for this singer. Secada was treated to the “members of the fleet” which allowed him to drive in cars including a Porsche 997 Turbo, a BMW M Series, Rolls-Royce Phantom and the “Boreallis Orange” Lamborghini Superleggera just to name a few.

The owner of Lou La Vie, Jan Otto drove Secada around in the various super cars and then gave the keys to the Lamborghini over to professional race car drive, Guy Cosmo with Secada holding steady in the passenger seat, enjoying every minute of it.
Once Secada was through joy riding he was spotted mingling with the guests at the event, greeting them and taking photos with his fans. He was all smiles as he left the track clearly still pumped with adrenaline from the speed and the glossy sportcars.

Didn’t get a chance to see Secada at the Palm Beach International Raceway? Don’t worry you still have your chance by checking out the video here.

Just when you thought South Coast Plaza couldn’t get any more exciting, AnQi, the mall’s newest Vietnamese-fusion bistro opened its doors inside Bloomingdale’s. The sister restaurant to the celebrity studded Crustacean in Beverly Hills, does not disappoint. Situated steps away from designer stores like Prada, Dior and Fendi, AnQi is a place to see and be seen. The An family which own AnQi have created a gourmet designer empire with upscale restaurant establishments in San Francisco, L.A., and now O.C.
AnQi (pronounced “On Key”) is the perfect Zen-like place to unwind after a day of non-stop shopping at the über mall or an easy-to-find place to meet for a fun night out. The décor is breathtakingly stylish with modern Asian influences and attention to detail, like tiny ceramic vases filled with pebbles and moss lining each table. With a South Coast Plaza location in the O.C. that is equivalent to Rodeo Drive, it’s fitting that the restaurant was designed with a runway, which is often used for fashion shows.
For a recent birthday celebration my friends and I shared stories, cocktails and yummy plates of food. The menu is broken down into small and large plates. Like a Tapas menu, this modern take on Vietnamese cuisine is best enjoyed when shared, which means you get to taste a variety of flavors.
Our favorites were Sweet Mango-Chili Glazed Shrimp ($9), each of the four shrimp arrived in its own little square on a white sectional plate, topped with marinated shitake mushrooms and corn and mango salsa. We also loved the Grilled Filet Mignon Pot Stickers ($12), which arrived with a dipping bowl of sesame soy sauce and tasted divine. The most memorable dish that evening would have to be the Sea Bass Special ($26) drizzled with a spicy orange sauce. One of the best sea bass dishes I’ve ever had.

The place is cozy, yet sleek; hip, yet elegant. Although the food portions were small (this is not the Cheesecake Factory), they were presented beautifully and most importantly tasted delicious. The waiters were courteous and the atmosphere is more like L.A. than O.C, which is refreshing. This was a well-needed destination for O.C. dwellers looking for somewhere to lounge, get a bite to eat and watch a fashion show, (if you’re lucky). And, if you’re there for lunch, I the noodle bar is a must.
I’m not sure whether it was because my friends and I were so loud or it’s de-rigueur but Ms. Helene An, family matriarch, executive chef and owner dropped by our table, had a chat and took a photo with us. Now, that’s what I call, service.

As the 2011 South Beach Wine & Food Festival continues to delight foodies everywhere with fun-filled events and delectable creations prepared by some of the best chefs in the world, The Setai South Beach will be hosting Dim Sum & Disco tonight, February 25, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Two worlds will collide as fusion-forward Chef Ming Tsai and the Setai’s award-winning executive Chef David Werly set the scene with traditional Chinese light fare, otherwise known as dim sum, for people to graze on throughout the night as they dance non-stop to DJ-spun ’70s and ’80s era disco music. The oceanfront Art Deco hotel will serve as the perfect backdrop for this event, as much of its décor was taken from Asian inspiration, bringing an element of elegant simplicity to an otherwise fast paced night.
Joining Chef David Werly for this event are an impressive group of local chefs including Keyvan Behnam of China Grill SOBE in Miami Beach, Richard Hales of Sakaya Kitchen in Miami, Joseph Maynard of Asia de Cuba in Miami Beach, and Gregory Yu of Tropical Chinese in Miami, as well as Joe Ng of RedFarm in New York.
With a diverse group of talented chefs preparing small treats, like buns, dumplings, and spring rolls, packed with big flavors that will be going out perpetually as the night goes on, attendees will be able maintain all the energy they need to enjoy a night of disco revival while reveling in the classical tastes of Asian cuisine.

Every year Dr. Lenny Roudner hosts one of the most exclusive parties South Beach has to offer. Dr. Roudner spares no expense and has become known for throwing one of the sexiest parties everyone on South Beach tries to get an invitation for. Being in Miami in February you have the escape from the snow around the country and perfect excuse to shed all the layers of clothing that our seasonal snowbirds are forced to wear. The entrance to this elaborate home is heavily guarded due to everyone trying to get into this strict invitation only lingerie party.
As you work your way through the multi level home you can easily tell the “who is who” of the South Beach social scene as they flaunt some of the sexiest lingerie and pajamas. The cool weather prevents people from jumping into the two swimming pools but the three jacuzzis usually keep everyone warm. Throughout the property there were stations for sushi, beef Wellington, Crepes and hor’ devours and a myriad of bars serving up some of the sexiest libations available.
The evening was a feast of indulgences for your senses and you’re reminded why they say South Beach is truly one of the sexiest cities in the country. As you see the crowd of beautiful people you can’t help but to wonder who has gone under the knife of our renowned host. “It’s a very competitive field out there and a girl has to look her best. If I ever decide to do any sort of procedure I know it will be with Dr. Roudner. It’s a guessing game here tonight!” stated singer Tokyo Diva.
All of South Beach bows to Dr. Roudner because it is the one night of the year (other than Halloween) that you are allowed to go into a night club in Lingerie or a bathrobe. This sexy scene definitely made it a Haute evening not to be missed.
