Oscar Night America in South Florida

You spent the last 6 months preparing fothe Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers won! Now what are you going to do with your time?

Remember, Awards Season is in full swing and the Oscars are right around the corner. The awards ceremony, which garners millions of viewers, airs early this year on Sunday, Feb. 27. Instead of lounging around in your pajamas, dress up and go to an Oscar Night America viewing party. Oscar Night America was created by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in an effort to connect viewers to the awards show and to benefit charitable organizations. There are two sanctioned events in South Florida:

Oscar Night America at the Miami Beach Cinematheque
Location: Miami Beach Cinematheque at the History City Hall; 1130 Washington Ave., 1st floor, Miami Beach
Time: 7 p.m.
Pricing: General admission- $125.00; MBC Member- $110.00
To benefit: Miami Beach Film Society & Cinematheque
Catering: Food by Escopazzo and drinks by Francis Ford Coppola, Bombay Sapphire, and Nespresso
Details: There will be a red carpet arrival, silent auction, and a champagne reception. The live telecast begins at 8:30 p.m.

Oscar Night America at Bash of Boca
Location: Bash of Boca; 6018 SW 18th St., Boca Raton
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Pricing: $50.00
To benefit: Palm Beach International Film Festival
Details: There will be a red carpet arrival. Party attire is Oscar chic. The live telecast begins at 8:00 p.m.
