The fact that one of the hottest winter events is also a New York benefit should not come as a surprise to any native. In fact, the words actually seem to denote one of the hottest, most exclusive philanthropic events the City has to offer. Bailey House, the 1983-founded organization that provides those suffering from HIV/AIDS with homes, is teaming up with the talented designer, Carmen Marc Valvo, and beloved TV personnel, Sherri Shepherd, of “The View,” to host the 23rd Annual Bailey House Auction and Party. Geoff Howell, Tiffany & Co.’s 2010 holiday interior expert, will be the creative mind (or should I say hands) behind this year’s benefit, which will be housed at the Lexington Avenue Armory.
Tickets are priced between $250 to $5,000. What you choose to bid on, however, is up to you. And there will be something you want… if not two or three items. Among the goodies this year’s auction has to offer is a Costa Rica getaway, opening day box seats to New York’s own Yankees, home accessories by Donna Karan, Restoration Hardware, and Steuben Glass, images by the talented photographers Robert Mapplethorpe, Herb Ritts and William Wegman, a date with Bravo’s unofficial face, Andy Cohen, and many more that you’ll want to bid on.
The VIP Reception begins at 6:00 pm, the Main Event at 7 p.m., and the pièce de résistance, or Live Auction, begins at 8:30 p.m.
