Miami City Ballet Presents Paul Taylor’s Powerful Promethean Fire

It is a great privilege and honor to share with you the Miami City Ballet’s company premiere of Paul Taylor’s Promethean Fire. The performance is Taylor’s response to September 11, 2001. My beautiful friend Artistic Director and Founder of the Miami City Ballet, Edward Villella describes and talks about this beautiful work so well in his You Tube video below.
My Mother, a former ballet dancer from Puerto Rico perished on American flight 11 that horrific day in world history and as an avid supporter of the Miami City Ballet who gave the costume shop to the MCB, I want to personally thank you Paul Taylor and thank you Miami City Ballet for bringing such meaningful art and dance to South Florida!! Paul, your answer to 9/11 is Promethean Fire and mine is SONIA’S RING: 11 WAYS TO HEAL YOUR HEART. We both understand the dance of life, and your beautiful ballet set to Leopold Stokowski’s orchestral transcriptions of Bach is breathtaking and enlightening. As the Washington Post said, “It is the best new dances in ages…” This is a unique and wonderful blessing so all you Haute Thinking and Haute Loving people out there, get your tickets now whether for the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, www.arshtcenter.org (Feb. 11-13) the Kravis Center for Performing Arts in Palm Beach, www.kravis.org (March 4-6), or the Broward Center, www.BrowardCenter.org (March 11-13), this is sure to be a memorable moment in history!!
