Upon my first visit to the over-the-top Crystals at CityCenter (ahem, one of the Bachelor’s latest date spots) I headed straight to Lanvin, as I, a Los Angeles native, do not get to spend much time in a space solely dedicated to Creative Director Alber Elbaz’s genius. Barneys sells his purses; Saks has his shoes; but until now, an entire boutique showcasing the French label has been absent for us LA-based, fashion-enamored individuals.
As of last Friday, our ultra exclusive and sometimes stubborn friend, Rodeo Drive, finally inducted Lanvin into its boulevard of champagne wishes and couture dreams. Located just off Wilshire Boulevard, the 4,250-square-foot boutique features women’s clothing and menswear in addition to footwear, accessories, and other fanciful items many of us pine over on a daily basis.
The exterior remains in line with Beverly Hills architecture and boasts a clean, modern façade. Inside is a different story; leopard furniture, art deco chandeliers, and an almost-finished VIP shopping area, reminiscent of The Hall of Mirrors, await and combine to form an alluring boudoir. Booth Moore of the Los Angeles Times raves about its ambiance and says, “It’s more open than the New York store, and more inviting than the Las Vegas store.”
Let the games begin—Rodeo Drive just became a lot more than a tourist haven. The eponymous shopping street is now “the” destination for couture junkies.
Lanvin is located at 260 N. Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, 310.402.0580
