Haute Fashion: Alchemist Boutique at 1111 Lincoln Road

We’re sure you’re familiar with the boutique, Alchemist? It has been on 438 Lincoln Road for more than 4 years and is categorized amongst a select few as one of the most exclusive, luxury boutiques in Miami. With most designs hailing from the Parisian catwalks around the world, such as Givenchy, Azzedine Alaia, Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, and Haider Ackerman to name a few. According to owner Roma Cohen, “Alchemist prides itself on customer service, exclusivity, and a one-on-one intimate experience.”

And now, Alchemist boutique is on a whole nother level…literally! Alchemist has been able to expand and create another state-of-the art boutique, what I consider the rock-n-roll of Alchemist, located on the fifth level of the parking garage turned luxury shopping destination, 1111 Lincoln Road. The boutique carries usually only two to give designers each season.  Currently those designs are Margiela, Rick Owens, Chrome Hearts, LGB, and Rodarte. The breathtaking boutique prides itself on being not only on another level but not having to deal with the large crowds and unnecessary traffic that a lot of boutiques encounter being on the ground level. Many clients get the feeling of exclusivity and privacy when they shop at this boutique. So how do they make money or attract customers being so hidden? According to Roma, “We have a loyal clientele and a customer database that receive special invites and appointments to the location.”

The space can be described as half the size of a glass museum, infused with steel, excellent, crisp lighting, and concrete. The boutique has a minimalist aesthetic to it that makes the clothing and the jewelry become the central focal point.  In terms of design and architecture, its the most fascinating thing I’ve saw in a long time!  It won the AIA award (American Institute of Architects) for best interior space in the country. To reach this forward-thinking storefront, you’ll drive over to the concrete car park at the western end of Lincoln Road. From there, you can either gun it up to the fifth floor or save a little gas, park on Level 1 and take the elevator up to the glass space.

Whether you are shopping on Lincoln Road or just sightseeing, take the opportunity to discover what the new Alchemist has to offer.  For more information about Alchemist, go to www.shopalchemist.com or email info@shopalchemist.com.
