Haute Event: Miami International Fashion Week 2011 is This Weekend!

Get ready Miami!  It is finally our time to enjoy our major fashion event of the year. New York has just recently wrapped up fashion week, with shows, parties, and events all over the city. Now it’s Miami’s turn. We may just have a little edge over them though…That would be the gorgeous weather, the beautiful beaches, and not to mention the VIP parties at LIV and the Gansevoort!

According to miamifashionweek.com, the 13th annual Miami International Fashion Week will take place Thursday March 3 through Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  The convention center will be transformed into a state-of-the art “Fashion City.”  It will be set up to showcase all fashion shows, exhibitions, and sponsor lounges.  This yearly, major event captures the city’s socialites, key players, and the who’s who in Miami.  People from all over the world flock to this event.

This is the largest, international, and Hispanic event in the United States, and keeps fashion “haute” in Miami! It has brought the best in international and Latin fashion, beauty, music, cuisine, and art to the forefront of American fashion scene. IWe have founder Beth Sobol to be thankful for this week; she is one of the founders and President of the Miami International Fashion Week. Beth has been well received in Miami and has received numerous keys to the city from past mayors.

Miami International Fashion Week will boast celebrities from all over the world and shows from local designers like the fabulous Julian Chang and Nicolas Felizola. I’m anticipating Julian Chang’s collection especially this season.  Aside from that, there will be a crossover of international culture from designers, entertainers, and celebrities from all over the world.  In 2010, there were people from Spain, London, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Mexico, and more.  These designers and countries come to present their collections, whether its swimwear, lingerie, menswear, jewelry, and evening wear.

With press from more than 600 outlets and 300 buyers from all over the world, this will definitely be an event that you DON’T want to miss. Ladies bring out your haute couture gowns and designer wear and men make sure you bring out your tailored suits and ready-to-wear ensembles. There will definitely be enough parties for everyone to enjoy.  For tickets and more information on this event, visit www.miamifashionweek.com or facebook Miami International Fashion Week.
