Haute Event: Fight Night XIII at the Marconi Automotive Museum

Laissez les bon temps rouler, they say in the Big Easy. But on March 4, there’ll be more than just good times at the Marconi Automotive Museum. Yes, it’ll be transformed into a Mardi Gras wonderland, but in addition to Bourbon Street-inspired cocktails and what’s sure to be plenty of beads, there’ll be  the main event — Fight Night XIII.

For the past 13 years, husband and wife team Dick and Priscilla “Bo” Marconi put together a boxing night to raise money for the Marconi Foundation for Kids and the Starkey Hearing Foundation and each year, it gets better and better. Attendees in the past include William Shatner, Sugar Ray Leonard and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and this year proves to be no different. Guests include four-time Indy 500 winner Al Unser, Sr. and actor Tommy “Tiny” Lister (The Dark Knight, Jackie Brown, The Fifth Element), who will enjoy the silent auction, sit-down dinner and professional boxing right alongside other revelers ready to raise money for the charities.

The Marconi’s, who have been holding Fight Night for 13 years, have raised $1 million annually for at-risk children through the Marconi Foundation for Kids.  “This year, Dick and I, along with the other members of our Board of Directors, anticipate a tremendous event – our most successful to date,” Priscilla “Bo” Marconi said. And you can be sure that if the good times roll as freely as they have been and the punches hit just right, they’ll be raising another cool million.
