Alec Baldwin, Jason Bateman, Jeff Bridges, LL Cool J, Rosario Dawson, Josh Duhamel, Jon Hamm, Angie Harmon, Dennis Haysbet, Nicole Kidman, Eva Longoria, Cory Monteith, and Amy Poehler, are just a few of the A-listers that are going to be presenting at this tomorrow’s SAG Awards.
Traditionally, the green room was simply a brief lounging area behind the stage where presenters and guests would sit to wait for their time to go on stage. But this year, the “green room” will hardly be green. For the first time ever, the Green Room will be fully designed and decorated by a luxury brand. And what better brand to match the caliber of the room’s guests than FENDI’s home collection, FENDI CASA.
FENDI CASA has carefully chosen a color palette of soft, neutral shades like ivory, mother-of-pearl, and ice grey with sprinkles of black, chocolate brown, and royal purple. The shining leather sofas with velvet pillows featuring the recognized double ‘F’ logo and the unique Spy Bag fastener. Marble coffee tables and Murano glass vases add to the room to create an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.
“FENDI CASA truly appreciates the opportunity to be a part of SAG’s celebration of artistic achievement,” said FENDI CASA’s President, Raffaella Vignatelli. FENDI CASA also joins The House of Graff jewelers in sponsoring the green room to honor the charitable work of actors and of the SAG Foundation, an organization that provides support to SAG members who are either in economic distress or are suffering from life-threatening illness, as wells as funding for scholarships for performers and their children.
The SAG Awards show will take place this Sunday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. (PT) at the Shrine Auditorium. The event will air simultaneously on TNT and TBS.

Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha. That’s the mantra meditation that the attendees at the Mar-A-Lago Club Meditation Program with Lama Migmar Tseten learned to chant as they were seeking healing, abundance, strength, self-confidence, and awakening. The Mother Tara Empowerment Ceremony given by Lama Migmar according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition had been passed through many generations of Indian yogis and Tibetan Lamas. At a profound level, this ceremony is given so that you can realize the enlightened wisdom Mother within.
During this two day program, Lama Migmar had bestowed the empowerment of Green Tara as he guided the participants in Sanskrit mantra and sacred Tibetan language recitations with English translations. Lama Migmar also gave instructions in Calm Abiding and Mindfulness Meditation. Talk about peace in paradise!! During the teachings and throughout the empowerment, all experienced inner joy and bliss to overcome the layers of baggage of afflicted and destructive emotions that have built up over past years and lives. The Meditation Program with Lama Migmar at Mar-A-Lago was outstanding! In the words of one of the participants, “Bravo Mr. Trump for making such a unique opportunity available to the community!”
This national historic site, the Mar-A-Lago Club, known as the “Jewel of Palm Beach”, was opened officially in January 1927 and was the estate of Marjorie Merriweather Post (then Mrs. E.F. Hutton). Today it is a members only club that offers the finest experience anywhere in luxury, relaxation, dining, and entertainment.

Sergio Romo, pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, the 2010 World Series champions, dedicated some time to meet the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas on Friday, Jan. 28. Twenty children got up close and personal with the major league big-timer and received personalized and autographed baseballs in the Lounge at the Palms.
Romo shared his stories of how he became the professional athlete he is today and the children expressed enthusiasm for the ball player. With the increasing popularity around Romo’s beard, the kids had a great time sporting their own fake beards and taking photos.
The group enjoyed ball park snacks including hot dogs by N9NE Steakhouse, popcorn by Brenden Theatres and orange-flavored cotton candy provided by Simon Restaurant & Bar. Also in attendance was N9NE Steakhouse Executive Chef Barry S. Dakake and Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas president and CEO Dulcinea Almazan and vice president Debbie Smith.

Tomorrow evening, around 1,200 of Hollywood’s favorite actors and actresses will come together at the Shrine Auditorium for the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Haute Living was fortunate enough to get a special behind-the-scenes tour of the upcoming event.
The SAG Awards production designer Joe Stewart was kind enough to break away from the set to give us a sneak peak into this year’s production plans. “This year’s ceremony and set design is all about glamour, glamour & more glamour,” he explained. “Our attendees are always the most glamorous group on earth, and the the stage this year is all about that elegance. The flooring is a checkerboard pattern reminiscent of the ‘30s and ‘40s along with ‘50s accents that are representative of Dorothy Draper, the famous hotel interior designer; I am a huge fan of her work.” Draper is known for designing the famous Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel and the lobby of the Carlyle Hotel, among others. “This year our design & theme is about big moldings and big chandeliers and our color palette is platinum, white and silver,” Stewart adds. “The florals are designed by CJ Matsumota and will reflect the stage. We are using fragrant white roses and calla lilies throughout the room.”
FENDI’s home collection, FENDI CASA is the epitome of glamour, so it’s no wonder that they were asked to design the green room for A-list presenters to lounge in while they prepare to go onstage. We are told that this year’s presenters will include Alec Baldwin, Jason Bateman, Jeff Bridges, LL Cool J, Rosario Dawson, Josh Duhamel, Jon Hamm, Angie Harmon, Dennis Haysbet, Nicole Kidman, Eva Longoria, Cory Monteith, and Amy Poehler. Legendary comedian Tim Conway will present this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Ernest Borgnine.
We also got a chance to speak with the SAG Awards producer Kathy Connell, who has been with the awards since the very beginning. When asked of her experience in producing the event over the years, she admits the best part is, “When I look around the room on show night and see that much talent in one room; I just love the chemistry.” So what’s on the menu at the Champagne Taittinger Red Carpet Opening Toast? A plated antipasti dinner will be served which will include four entrees salmon, lamb, a lentil salad, and a blood orange salad (the recipe to which is feature in this week’s People magazine). There will also be vegan plate available. Dry Creek Vineyard will be serving a 2009 Sauvignon Blanc along with a commemorative Cabernet -based Cuvee which will be served for the first the very first time. The winery will also continue its tradition at the awards by offering wine tasting bars for sampling select Dry Creek vintages during the pre-show cocktail hour. Champagne is of course Taittinger and the water, Voss.

Friday night, Slash hosted his after-concert party at Tao at the Venetian. After opening for Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, his wife Perla and a large group of friends gathered for a dinner of signature dishes at the Asian bistro, including the rocker’s favorite, General Tso’s chicken.
On the red carpet, he shared that he loves coming to Vegas because it is so close to Southern California and he has so much fun here. He said he has some projects coming up for his movie production company, Slasher Films, but said there are no plans for him to get in front of the camera as he is only going to produce.
Slash and the group, including Laura Croft from “Holly’s World,” arrived upstairs in the club to great fanfare, taking over several tables on the dance floor as fans crowded to get pictures. He joined DJ Ross One in the deejay booth, announcing to the crowd that he was going to play make shift deejay and, “and interrupt your regular programming for an hour or so.” Slash started off his set with “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Crazy Train,” setting the stage for the perfect night. After getting the party started, Slash returned to his table to watch the crowd enjoy his specially selected play list.

In the 1950’s, French high jewelry house, Van Cleef & Arpels launched their renowned Zip necklace. Born of a suggestion by the Duchess of Windsor, the piece of jewelry was not only artfully crafted but also technically advanced enough to work as a functioning zipper. The Zip necklace, which is actually capable of being worn open as a necklace or zipped closed as a bracelet, quickly became an iconic part of the Van Cleef & Arpels high jewelry family.
To celebrate Haute Couture week, the house revisited the design launching four new editions that incorporate modern references, geometry, and brightly colored stones for an end result that’s fresh and current. And how appropriate, really, to unveil the latest members of the Zip family during a week in Paris that is based upon the idea of careful construction and precision in crafting clothing of a certain caliber.
The pieces will return to New York in February so any interested parties should set up an appointment right away as they surely won’t last long.
