Well the secret is out. A family-owned company that started in 2001, Diving Delicacies Custom Cakes has been making elaborate cakes for celebrities ever since Lil Wayne placed an order. Laura Rodriguez, manager of Diving Delicacies, remembers answering the phone late on Saturday night to Lil Wayne’s manager requesting a cake for that same evening, they delivered. Since that fateful call, celebreties have been placing orders left and right including Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, Dwyane Wade, Carmen Electra and artist Romero Britto. Rodriguez does all the sketches personally and her mother decorates each cake one by one.
The cake’s feature trademark, Swarovski crystals, covers Lebron’s cake with more than 10,000 crystals. A large cake similar to Lebron’s or Wade’s can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000, however, the Miami local company has a storefront near a college campus with petit delicacies at around $25. Whether it’s for a wedding, birthday or just because, this company can shell out an extravagant cake suited for anyone living the haute life.
