The design was originally developed for offshore rigs, which need to head out and stay out in open seas, regardless of conditions. The twin hulls help make the vessel stable, as does the broad beam (width). In fact, Silver Cloud’s 58-foot beam is double that of a traditional yacht of its size. Bolstering the comfort level even more is a computer-operated stabilization system that reacts to the motions of the seas.

Of course, there’s more to enjoy about Silver Cloud than its ability to counteract swells. There are accommodations for 12 guests in six staterooms. (Make sure you get dibs on the upper deck’s master suite, which has a king-size bed and panoramic views forward.) A handful of indoor and alfresco dining and relaxation areas are at your disposal, too, including a private theater and a hot tub. The crew of nine means you get personalized attention, too, especially from the chef, who will prepare meals according to your preferences and especially be cognizant of allergies.

And just like any proper charter yacht, Silver Cloud totes a mini armada of watertoys. There’s a banana boat, plus inflatable tubes, sea kayaks, plenty of diving and snorkeling gear, paddleboards, a wakeboard, and a 39-foot Intrepid, a powerboat that’s ideal for fishing.
