Haute Event: “True Grit” Premieres in New York
Western film True Grit had its New York premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater in Midtown on Tuesday night. The Coen Brothers, most famous for writing Fargo and The Big Lebowski, have come back with this adaptation of a novel by Charles Portis. The story is about a teenage girl whose father has been shot, and she is determined to bring his murderer to justice. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Barry Pepper and Hailee Steinfeld, many of whom were in attendance on the red carpet, along with other New York big names including former Mayor Rudy Guiliani and the always dapper Adrian Grenier.
