What Made Him Haute: While he’s best known for appearing on the silver screen, Eastwood also owns the extremely private, invitation-only Tehama Golf Club in Carmel-by-the-Sea and is an investor in the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
What Makes Him Haute Now: Cecile de France, the actress that plays a high-profile reporter in the new feature The Hereafter, was out promoting the movie last week, and she had only good things to say about Clint Eastwood: when asked about the differences between the aforementioned low budget movie and other high budget movies she’s done, like Around the World in 80 Days, she insists that the connection between the actors and the director is what makes or breaks the experience.
Apparently, Eastwood has so much confidence in the groups he works with that he does unheard of things, such as shoot only one take, or give his casting directors complete freedom over who to pick for the roles. De France says she really enjoyed the experience of working with the talented director, adding “In France he’s like God. He is the favorite director of a lot of actors, so I was the happiest person in the world when I received positive word from him. And I wasn’t disappointed…”
