3 Places to Celebrate Thanksgiving Without Cooking

Some people relish cooking up the turkey, the stuffing, the pumpkin pie, (ick) etc. This year, I am not the chef. I am the recipient, and there are plenty of places in Los Angeles where you can get your turkey groove on, and not have to lift a finger in the kitchen – what’s more, if you’re so inclined, you can 86 the family quotient too.
Here are my top 3 variegated picks:
ON THE WATER
THANKSGIVING BRUNCH ON THE QUEEN MARY
1126 Queens Highway
Long Beach, CA 90802
562.435.3511
As long as you don’t get seasick (the boat is docked, by the way) you can pretend you’re aboard the Titanic (well, maybe not) but something just as grand as the Queen Mary serves up Thanksgiving goodies from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at $49.95 for adults, half-price for children 5-11, under 5 free. Sir Winston’s, The Chelsea and The Promenade Cafe on the Queen Mary will also offer Thanksgiving day menus from $18.95 to $55, with options from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
ALL ORGANIC, ALL LOCAL
AKASHA
9543 Culver Blvd.
Culver City, CA 90232-2618
310.845.1700
http://www.akasharestaurant.com/
Noon to 7 p.m.
Featuring the local harvest of Finley Farms, Mud Creek Ranch, Tutti Frutti Farms, Coleman Farms, McGrath Family Farms, Rutiz Farm, Weiser Family Farms, Life’s A Choke, Windrose Farms, Flora Bella Farm, Kennedy Farms, See Canyon, Terry Ranch, Shaner Farms and more. $60 per person; $35 for children 12 and under (alcohol/tax/gratuity not included).
SWANK AND BRITISH
CECCONI’S
8764 Melrose Ave.
West Hollywood, CA 90069
310.432.2000

Brunch until 3 p.m., then gather the family for a festive Thanksgiving feast with wood oven roast turkey and holiday sides. $45 for adults, $25 for children under ten. Sit outdoors on the beautiful patio or inside in lush grey blue velvet and gold surroundings.
