Flipping Out: FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead Opens

Nothing is more American than a good burger. The classic culinary fare housed snugly between two buns and topped with a myriad of choices that tempt your personal palate. Whether you prefer it conventional with ground round, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayonnaise and ketchup, all covered by a sesame seed bun or if you are more of a risk-taker and like turkey, vegetarian or vegan recipes that are topped with all kinds of out-of-this-world goodness and surprises. Celebrity Chef Richard Blais has you covered because he just opened his second location to his popular restaurant FLIP with a new Buckhead address. Find out what lies in store for customers when they visit this new dining oasis.

Shortly after finishing in the runner-up position on Season 4 of Bravo’s hit reality franchise Top Chef, super Chef Richard Blais began to get hard at work on his concept restaurant in Atlanta’s Midtown district called FLIP. Blais has described the idea of the restaurant as “a burger joint under the guise of fine dining,” and it expertly combines the best elements of both to create a one of a kind culinary experience that has the whole city buzzing about its innovative and creative dishes and plating techniques. Along with co-owners Barry Mills and Ron Stewart, Blais has singlehandedly turned the classic burger concept on its ear to delicious results.

At the new Buckhead location expect to find menu favorites like the sinfully sweet liquid nitrogen milkshakes (the Krispy Kreme flavor is amazing), classic bacon + cheese burger, popular hand cut fries and the Thai burger that is beyond tasty. However, along with current menu staples, a batch of newcomers now grace the menu, including the duck duck goose burger (duck with fois gras, duck confit and kumquat) and the Venison burger that has venison tenderloin, mushroom, red cabbage and juniper. The vegetarians and vegans are definitely not left out because there are several dishes that they are sure to find addictive. The basic veggie burger features a veggie patty, caramelized onions, miracle flip, marinated tomato and arugula and radish salad. Following that up is the faux-lafel burger that consists of a fried chick pea patty with arugula, cucumber, red onion, pickled beets, red pepper and a special feta cheese spread. Also, the V-9 burger tests the conventional boundaries of vegetarian food, boasting fava beans, harissa, cous cous, grilled tomato, pickled cauliflower and lentils.

Clean architecture and design complete the overall appeal of FLIP Burger Boutique. Crisp black, white and red colors adorn the tables, walls and accompanying fixtures, making for a sophisticated and sleek look that customers will greatly appreciate. Describing it only conveys so much, I suggest you run to the nearest Atlanta location and experience that magic of FLIP for yourself.
