Best Bars to Watch Post-Season Giants Games

Now that the San Francisco Giants have made their way to Atlanta, it’s time to start scouting locations to watch the remaining games of this series. Requirements of a great sports bar are booze, pub food and of course, ample amounts of televisions. Here are a handful of suggestions for various locations in the city where San Francisco fans can gather for the perfect game-watching atmosphere. Now all we need is a cure for Giants torture…

SOMA: Pete’s Tavern

Pete’s Tavern has all it takes to be a great sports bar. Their walls are littered with big screen televisions, including a large projection screen. The bar takes center field in this venue, allowing for plenty of counter space to pull up a stool and order one of their twelve beers on tap. Their menu has a variety of pub food favorites, including buffalo wings, sliders, and curly fries. In addition, this pub is located across from AT&T Park, allowing for fans to rush the Willie Mays statue when the Giants defeat Atlanta.

Pete’s Tavern is located at 128 King St, San Francisco. For more information, call 415.817.5040 or visit www.petestavernsf.com.

Sunset: Chug Pub

This Outer Sunset bar is known for their great pub atmosphere and their friendly bartenders. Patrons love their Chug Tower, which serves up an enormous cylinder filled with the beer of choice and is accompanied by a complimentary side order of nachos or fries for only $30. With fifteen televisions, Giants fans are sure to not miss a single play of the game.

Chug Pub is located at 1849 Lincoln Way, San Francisco. For more information, call 415.242.9930.

Marina: The Republic

The Republic restaurant hosts thirteen high-definition TV’s, including a massive 82” screen television ready to show all the upcoming Giants game. Their gastropub menu ups the ante on your typical bar cuisine, including their Republic Burger, truffle garlic parmesan fries, and mac ‘n’ cheese. They have twenty options for draft beers and even a four 5oz. beer sampler for $9.

The Republic is located at 3213 Scott St, San Francisco. For reservations, call 415.817.1337 or visit www.republicsf.com.
