Last night, Holly Madison hosted the second annual Hollyween at Studio 54’s Nightmare on 54th Street at the MGM Grand.
Anticipation grew as the spooky and sexy revelers guessed what costume the “Peepshow” star would be donning. The crowd went wild when Madison arrived dressed the part of Disney princess Aurora from “Sleeping Beauty.” Madison wore a hot pink sparkling mini-dress showcasing the features that helped make her famous with a bedazzled gold crown topping her blonde hair and a gorgeous pair of glittering pink pumps. On the carpet, Madison spoke of why she loves hosting. “Studio 54 is the biggest club in Vegas. They always have an amazing Halloween week. They always have lots of aerial acts and really cool things going on [here], so it’s the perfect place for a Halloween party,” she said.
Her “Holly’s World” counterparts Angel Porrino, Josh Strickland and Laura Croft arrived ready to celebrate the holiday with the blonde beauty. Sticking with the Disney theme, Croft played the part of fellow princess Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” in a short gold dress and classic white gloves. Feeling too sexy to dress as a princess, Porrino arrived in character as furry skunk Flower from “Bambi.” Strickland opted to play up his manly side and dressed as a pirate complete with oversized hat and lots of swagger.
The “Holly’s World” crew then made their way to their VIP area above the crowd, where they had a view of the performances happening on stage. All eyes focused on the stage as Ne-Yo’s “Beautiful Monster” began playing and scantily clad dancers transformed into sexy spiders for a performance on a massive spider web. Excited for the costume contest, Madison tweeted to fans, “So many amazing costumes at Studio 54! I can’t wait to see who wins the contest tonight!” After another performance by the Studio 54 dancers, the lights dimmed and confetti flew as the sexy Halloween host descended to the stage on an aerial swing.
The crowd cheered ecstatically as they snapped pictures of the bombshell as she kicked off the costume contest. Joined on stage by resident DJ Loczi, who donned a furry bird costume, Madison commanded, “Show me your Big Bird!” Contestants lined up backstage hopeful to win the coveted $5,000 cash prizes for most original and sexiest costumes. The audience screamed for their favorite costumes and, for the first time ever, awarded a tie between the creative outfits of Neytiri from “Avatar” and a World of Warcraft fanatic. Things heated up as the sexiest contestants took the stage in their most scandalous outfits. There was no question to first place when Madison named the barely there Garden of Eden the winner. Wishing the fabulously attired crowd a “Happy Hollyween,” Sleeping Beauty made her way back upstairs where she continued to revel in the party atmosphere until early the next morning.

There are many beautiful aspects of fall: rustling amber leaves, steaming hot mugs of cider, and refreshing cool morning air. But with the good comes the bad, ie dry skin. For years, I’ve struggled with everything from dry cuticles, chapped lips and gasp… unsightly flakes on my scalp.
A few weeks ago I attended the Dialogue on Wellness Soultions at the MoMA hosted by Norma Kamali, one of my all-time favorite designers. After a screening of an episode from her new hulu channel, panelists, including Twyla Tharp, Horst Rechelbacher, Joe Cross, and Dr. Colbert, stirred conversation on health and wellness. The discussion inspired us to look within ourselves and find ways to incorporate healthy ingredients, lifestyle choices, exercise, breathing and meditation into our daily lives.
Tucked in our gift bags were samples from Norma Kamali’s Olive Wellness Collection. At first I was hesitant. I’ve always known Norma Kamali for her innovative designs such as the parachute collection, her swimsuits and seriously hip bangs… but bath products? However, for several weeks I’ve been using the olive calcium liniment, olive oil soap and the lavender massage oil. They are hands down the solution that has ended my quest for combating dry skin in the fall. Quality ingredients, moderately priced and easy to incorporate into the daily regime.
In a recent interview in the Huffington Post by freelance writer and yoga teacher Tess Ghilaga, Norma Kamali gives insider tips for gorgeous skin “After showering, place a healthy dose of Kamali’s Olive Calcium Liniment on a wash cloth and scrub all over your body. Then, push your cuticles back with the damp cloth/Olive Calcium Liniment mixture.” Just in time for holiday gifting or a pampering treat to yourself, purchase online or at her Wellness Cafe in midtown.
Rhode Island’s famous deejay and cast member of reality sensation “Jersey Shore” Pauly D hosted the Night of the Killer Costumes at Moon Nightclub inside the Palms Saturday night. Around midnight, Pauly D dressed head-to-toe as teen singing sensation Justin Bieber. The crowd went wild as Pauly D spun on the turntables without his signature hair style, which was product-free for the first time in public.
He treated the crowd to a two-hour set and was wearing a New York baseball hat, zip-up sweater and neon green high-top sneakers.
Earlier that evening, Pauly D dined with eight friends in the private dining room of Nove Italiano. They enjoyed dishes including sausage pizza, calamari, meatballs and shrimp franchise. The group also toasted with a round of the signature espresso shots.
Also at Nove Italiano was former MLB player and manager Pete Rose. Accompanied by a friend, they sat in the main dining room where they enjoyed a family-style dinner that included Executive Chef Geno Bernardo’s signature dishes.

Last night, Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt hosted a spooktacular Halloween bash at Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace. The on-again, off-again couple showed up to the Las Vegas hot spot proving they are officially back on and looking as in love as ever.
Along with just a few friends, Montag and Pratt kicked off the evening with an intimate dinner at Social House located inside Crystals at CityCenter. The couple was seen indulging in Executive Chef Joe Elevado’s Yellowtail jalapeño, tuna ginger and an assortment of sushi while sticking to non-alcoholic drinks. Following dinner, Pratt changed into an alien costume at Social House before heading to Pure Nightclub to walk the red carpet.
When the pair arrived at Pure, they shocked the crowd in a different way. Known for turning heads and being over-the-top, Montag surprised her fans by coming dressed rather tame for the spooky holiday. Modeling one of her own designs, a tight black lace mini-dress, the former star of “The Hills” said she decided to be “Heidi Montag” for Halloween. Following the red carpet, the couple was escorted directly to their VIP table on Pure’s main stage. Once they arrived, admirers gathered around fighting for Montag’s attention. She was thankful and overwhelmed with the response of her fans, as one-by-one they started handing pieces of their costumes to her to autograph. This included everything from dodge balls, sashes and props, but what shocked Montag the most was when guests starting offering their bodies to sign.
She said surprised and happy, “I’ve never signed actual people before.”
While spending most of the evening interacting with the crowd, the couple’s attention was stolen by a guest dressed as a Spencer Pratt look-a-like carrying a female blonde blow-up doll with a T-shirt saying “I Love Spencer.” Proud of the guest’s costume they welcomed him to the stage and high-fived him for his creativity. Later that night, the Pratt look-a-like won third place in the costume contest.
Throughout the evening, the couple rarely left each other’s side. They were seen being very affectionate toward one another. Montag was even spotted seducing her husband by giving him the occasional lap dance and kisses.
To conclude the night, Montag got on the mic and thanked everyone for spending Halloween with them at Pure and reminded them to be safe.

The blonde bombshell and her best girlfriends were in full Halloween spirit as they showed off their seductive costumes. Dressed as a sexy mobster, Kendra claimed the inspiration behind her ensemble was because she’s now the “boss” of her family.
The female entourage started the evening with dinner at Social House inside Crystals at CityCenter, where they dined on Executive Chef Joe Elevado’s famous Kalbi steak, Jidori chicken teriyaki and Kobe sliders. The rowdy table of festively dressed hotties took shots of Patron and Jägermeister to get the night started before heading to LAX Nightclub inside the Luxor.
At LAX Nightclub, Kendra was welcomed with a roar from the excited crowed. She stopped to sign autographs and take pictures with lucky club goers before heading to her luxe VIP table where she danced the night away with her girlfriends. Aaron O'Connell, Angel McCord, AnnaLynne McCord, Melissa Hirschenson and John Lewis arrive at Veuve Clicquot's Yelloween at Lavo.
Veuve Clicquot’s Yelloween celebration in Vegas continued on Saturday night at Lavo at the Palazzo. “90210” star AnnaLynne McCord hosted the event to help raise awareness for The Blind Project, a collective of passionate individuals uniting together, leveraging their unique talents to empower victims and survivors of the commercial sex trade in Southeast Asia. They consist solely of volunteers with no paid staff. McCord calls it her “passion project” and expressed gratitude to Lavo for donating a VIP table to her to auction off to raise money and awareness for the cause.
The star arrived with her sister Angel and a group of friends clad in Alice in Wonderland costumes. McCord walked the red carpet as The White Queen, while Angel dressed as Alice. Her agent Melissa Hirschenson came as the Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter was John Lewis. Robert Rapport, the head make-up artist from “90210,” came with the group to Vegas just to get everyone party ready, with the help of Brianna Thomas from the Kim Vo salon.
McCord said she loved Tao at the Venetian so was looking forward to experiencing Lavo for the first time and that she couldn’t wait to try the spaghetti bolognese.
The large group sat down to dinner in the private dining room, enjoying favorites from the Italian eatery including Kobe meatballs, chicken marsala, the bolognese and more and her friends enjoyed Veuve Clicquot with their meal. After dinner they adjourned to the nightclub for the Veuve Clicquot Yelloween festivities.
Upstairs the sisters danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Crooked and toasted to the event with McCord pouring glasses of Veuve Clicquot Champagne for her Alice in Wonderland group. Annalynne added to her White Queen costume, swiping the pilot hat from actor Aaron O’Connell’s get-up and donning it herself, hamming it up while all of the friends took pictures of each other.
LMFAO brought their Party Rock experience as Veuve Clicquot’s Yelloween continued at Tao. Always dressed for a good time, the holiday inspired them to take their look even further as Red Foo appeared covered in body paint.
The large group of 20 fueled up for the night with an Asian feast and after dinner added glow sticks to their costumes before heading up to the club. Once upstairs they surprised the packed club with an impromptu performance of their hit songs including “I’m in Las Vegas Trick,” and “Shots.” As always their energy raised the crowd’s excitement level as costumed club goers danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Vice.

If you haven’t been to Entebello, Atlanta’s modern apothecary and spa, you are missing out. With so many great services, including facials, mani/pedis, makeup applications and Sonia Dakar body treatments, it is hard to just choose one service. But what really sets Entebello apart from other Atlanta spots is their boutique front (modern Apothecary, if you will). There are over 85 lines of cosmetics, body, hair, fragrance, skincare and accessories. They carry all the cult beauty products you won’t find anywhere else.
So on my way to lunch with friends, I decided to stop in and browse. Rachelle Janicki, the adorable owner, who I have known for a while, gave me a little tour on what’s new and haute for fall. Here is an (very) edited list of five of the hautest products for fall.
Designer Pleasure?
According to Rachelle, this seemingly innocent line jimmyjane “where naughty is nice, sexy is smart and pleasure is in the details”, flies off the shelves. Think sophisticated pleasure and designer sexy. Try the some of the great massage oils, candles and other fun products (like the discreet vibrating rubber ducky for bath time.) Looking for something more luxe? Try the platinum or gold vibrator.
The Lipstick Queen
These lip products are amazing. Right now, the must-have is the Jean Queen, which is a pink color that goes with all denim. With its very matte nature matching any denim, this color will light up your whole face. All of the colors come in lipstick as well as gloss. And, you can’t find this line anywhere else in Atlanta.
Moroccanoil® Light
The same fabulous hair care line has a new product for the fair-haired and lighter-haired bunch. The Moroccanoil ®Light is the perfect shield against harmful environmental factors and leaves your hair luxurious and shiny.
Ineke Fragrances
Ineke fragrances have a scents for everyone. The artisan designed fragrances compliment your personality. Scents go by letters and tell a little story. For example, A is “After my own heart” and is a the scent “of fresh lilacs floating in the early evening breeze.”
This line of Trina makeup bags is fantastic. Each season they have a new line reflecting the fashion trends around the world. The best are the three piece sets which are perfect for the jetsetter.
Entebello is located at 324 East Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, 404.477.2933
Anyone who has ever traversed the green space triangle between the Long Wharf Marriott, the North End’s Atlantic Ave border and the waterfront knows what a peaceful piece of land it has become thanks to the restoration and help of the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP). If you have had a picnic lunch in the space, strolled along the walkway along the water, taken the kids here to frolic and play or even romanced a certain someone under the twinkling lights of the garden trellis – now is your chance to give back.
On Friday, November 19, 2010 a Gala Fundraising Celebration is set to take to place at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf Hotel to benefit the work of FOCCP. Tickets are $125 for this evening of dinner and dancing or $1250 for a table of 10. Festive dress is encouraged.
The FOCCP is made up of community members from both the North End and the Waterfront area dedicated, in their words, to, “the restoration, protection, preservation, care, enhancement, improvement, and maintenance of the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.” The group works with the City of Boston to help provide funding for the annual holiday trellis lighting, tend to the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden, purchase new trees and plants for the park, and organize events such as the gala throughout the year.
Features of this wonderfully restored modern park include free Wi-Fi, a year round playground and summertime sprinklers for the kids, free seasonal Tuesday evening concerts, free seasonal art classes on Sunday, the splendor of the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden, spectacular views of the waterfront activity, and one of the most romantic spots in the city to get engaged or even host your wedding ceremony.
Also join FOCCP and Mayor Menino on Monday, November 22 at sundown for the annual trellis lighting. The mayor will have the honor of flipping the switch to light up the beautiful spectacle that will last through the end of the year. Singers will be on hand as well as hot cocoa to keep every feeling warm and festive.
To find out more information or pick up tickets to the gala, call 617.727.9429 or 781.639.6002 foccp.org
