Haute Dining SF: Pizzeria Delfina, The Best Pizza I Ever Ate
by HauteLiving

Despite my luxury career working for Haute Living Magazine, I am a simple girl at heart. Though my beloved pastime is experiencing new upscale restaurants, one of my favorite foods in this world is pizza. I am constantly on the search for that perfect slice of cheesy saucy perfection. After this weekend, I think my search is over. The best pizza I have ever eaten is the one I had at Pizzeria Delfina.

Pizzeria Delfina has two locations, one in the Mission and one in Pacific Heights, which are both sister restaurants to upscale Italian eatery, Delfina. This popular joint is no stranger to San Francisco locals. This is evident by constant flow of names scrawled along their waitlist chalkboard.

The pizza is fresh, oven baked Neapolitan inspired perfection. They have six staple pizzas on their menu with two daily specials. My personal favorite is their Magic pizza. Not on their official menu, it is technically a Panna pie with fennel sausage. Their wine list consists of twenty carefully selected Italian varieties which compliment their pizzas beautifully.

The vibe in the restaurant is lively with throwback 90’s R&B tunes playing over the stereo. In addition, the service is some of the friendliest I have experience in any restaurant in the city. As previously mentioned, there is always a substantial line, but guests can order wine while they wait for their table.

Though pizza preferences is a very personal topic, I think it’s safe to say Pizzeria Delfina is one of the best in the city. What’s your favorite slice in San Francisco?

Pizzeria Delfina is located at both 3611 18th St. and 2406 California St. in San Francisco. For more information or to place phone orders to go, call 415.437.6800 and 415.440.1189 respectively or visit their website at www.pizzeriadelfina.com.

While pizza by the slice is certainly not what Chicago’s known for (as you can’t exactly get a single serving of deep dish), when push comes to shove, we can give New York style a run for their money when we have to. NYC, eat your heart out. Literally.
