    1. R. Thomas Deluxe Grill
A hands-down Atlanta favorite and the most popular vegetarian/vegan spot in town, R. Thomas is healthy, convenient and ridiculously delicious. Owner Richard Thomas opened up shop in 1985 and has successfully maintained one of Atlanta’s jewels. A late- night staple for years, their menu is superb with a myriad of choices that makes a decision difficult. The 24 hour oasis with the legendary outdoor patio, has something for everyone to savor, standouts include: the southern range chicken dinner, organic salmon piccata, portabella melt, spicy fish tacos and the amazing signature quesadillas. After you have stuffed yourself with those great eats, save a little room for dessert because the banana chocolate chip cake is worth a few extra calories.

    2. Top FLR
A relative newcomer on the scene (it opened in 2007) is the Midtown culinary delight Top FLR (Top Floor). Boasting closing times of 1 a.m. during the week and an hour later on weekends, you are sure to get your fill even if you burn the midnight oil. Favored by the hipster crowd, the cozy two-story building is perfect for a romantic lingering date or after a night of full-blown partying. Their menu is spectacular and innovative, the type of food you would love to have at a dinner party. Several highlights are the mixed green salad with honey-lavender dressing and cherries, duck confit pizza with applewood bacon and grilled portobello mushrooms, horseradish crusted salmon with braised leek and blood orange reduction and the mussels with coconut lime and dressed with soy broth. Upscale food, chic location, trendy crowd and late hours…what more could you ask for?

    3. Majestic Diner
For classic American cuisine that perfectly soaks up lingering alcohol or satisfies the midnight munchies, Virginia Highlands resident diner Majestic has all of the comfort food you crave. Another 24 hour spot, breakfast, lunch and dinner is served to diners’ delight. The Breakfast Special (a short stack, two eggs and your choice of ham, bacon and pork or turkey sausage) is one of the most popular dishes. If burgers and hotdogs are more your speed try the Majestic special, a classic double burger with American or Swiss cheese, the Ponce Dog with chili, cheese and onions or the Ponce Picnic that includes a deluxe cheeseburger and a hotdog. Blue plate specials feature pork chops and flat iron steak, while the desserts are sinfully decadent. The brownie and baklava sundaes are enough to give you an extreme sugar rush. A little Majestic (or a lot) goes a long way.

    4. Au Pied de Cochon
It doesn’t get anymore refined than this. Located inside the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel, exquisite French food is the cuisine of choice. Executive Chef Michael Buard expertly crafts a menu of mouth-watering French treats. Enjoy a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and sample the salade niçoise with tuna confit or grilled salmon, crème de champignons sauvages en croute (wild mushroom soup with truffle oil and puff pastry), Magret de canard rôti (roasted duck with celery root puree and vegetables with peach chutney) or the saumon de Atlantique ( roasted salmon, sautéed spinach and aioli saffron sauce.) This may be slightly rich for late-night dining, but it’s open 24 hours and the décor is absolutely breathtaking. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

    5. Holeman & Finch Public House
A new American gastro pub that has great food and a cool, funky atmosphere, Holeman & Finch offers highly upscale cuisine that will have you singing their praises long after you’re gone. Start things off with the glazed Beatrice eggplant or the lamb campagne, followed by the skillet mussels, fish and chips or the crunchy gentleman (black forest ham with melted gruyere) and finish things off with the must-have fried Georgia peach pie or the brown sugar cake. Serving until 1:30 a.m. everyday except Sunday, you will definitely return once you have tasted what they have to offer.
