Haute Event: Shop Addicts Fashion Binge-Shopping Event

If the timeliness in which one can hail a cab in New York City is any indication of how many people are out and about on a given night, then it seems that Friday night may have been one of the craziest nights in the history of the city! Sept. 10 marked the second annual Fashion’s Night Out where fashionistas, their friends and their friends’ friends, swarmed the streets of Manhattan. From Upper West to Upper East, from SoHo to Meatpacking District, fashion was the number one thing on everybody’s mind.
One of the more exclusive events from the evening was Shop Addicts Fashion Binge-Shopping Event at Touch Lounge where celebrity fashionista, jewelry designer and cosmetic designer (and Haute Living style ambassador) Loren Ridinger made a special appearance. The stunning socialite arrived in a black Cadillac Escalade escorted by friends (including Sammi Giancola from Jersey Shore) and photographers wearing a sparkly black, long-sleeved dress complemented by gorgeous dangling earrings. She was there to promote her recently revamped cosmetics line, Motives Cosmetics.
Guests sipped on cocktails while enjoying music, makeovers (by the Motives Cosmetics team) and massages. The two levels of the lounge created the perfect space to have room for the dozen or so pop-up shops that featured some extremely talented emerging fashion and beauty vendors. A favorite from the evening was the classic collection from Something Rebellious by Benjamin Jay. The line is a chic assortment of everyday casual wear items such as uber-comfy tees and leggings in classic colors. Another popular table displayed trendy rings from Illasparks by Kat Sparkman and the interesting, home-made chunky necklaces from Susan Happersett of Lazy Susan Collages.
Ridinger has long been devoted to helping empower young women. Proceeds from the evening went to COULDYOU?, a charity dedicated to the education of young girls and women in Mozambique, Africa.
