Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean & Alicia Keys

Category: Power Couple

Industry: Music

What Made Them Haute: The rapper/record producer and executive sold his first beat when he was just 17, and it became DMX’s hit single Ruff Ryders Anthem. The multi-talented Beatz is also a painter, collector, CEO, entrepreneur, father, and even the United Nation’s Music Ambassador for World Peace. Keys is a nine-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist, musician, actress, and philanthropist. She became the first female to have an MTV Unplugged album to debut at No. 1. In June 2009, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers honored Keys with the Golden Note Award, which is given to artists “who have achieved extraordinary career milestones.” She is also the co-founder and Global Ambassador of Keep a Child Alive, a non-profit organization that provides medicine to families with HIV and AIDS in Africa. Keys was honored at the 2009 BET Awards with the Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic work.

What Makes Them Haute Now: Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys made it official on Saturday by wedding in a private ceremony in France, close to the Mediterranean Sea. The bride looked like a Grecian goddess in a beautiful, white silk, asymmetrical gown designed by Vera Wang. To complement her “toga chic” look, Keys added a beaded headband to her sleek updo that draped across her forehead. Not to be out done, Beatz wore a Tom Ford tuxedo with a raspberry colored ruffled shirt and a black bow tie. The couple was married by friend Deepak Chopra in front of a number of celebrity guests including U2’s Bono and Queen Latifah. Keys and Beatz have been together since 2008 and they are expecting their first child together in November. The wedding solidifies their place as a power couple and adds them to the ranks of rap and R&B royalty.
