What Makes Him Haute: Everyone is familiar with The Donald’s real estate (and reality television) empire, but they may not be entirely familiar with his South Florida ties. Trump purchased Palm Beach’s magnificent Mar-A-Lago estate in 1985 and used the immense palace as his personal home for a number of years before turning it into one of the country’s most exclusive private clubs a decade later. It is the last remaining Palm Beach estate that is almost identical to the day it was built, albeit with modern comforts and upgrades, which led it to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The real estate mogul also has three Trump-branded properties in South Florida (one in Hollywood and two in Sunny Isles), as well as Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach.
What Makes Him Haute Now: The Trump Organization and Talbott Teas, a leading purveyor of gourmet teas, have joined forces to launch Trump Tea, a premium line inspired by the luxuries synonymous with the Trump brand. The line consists of four proprietary, whole leaf tea blends created by Talbott Teas’ master blender Shane Talbott. Each tea is cleverly named for Trump’s favorite New York City indulgences and experiences. The Park Avenue, The Union Square, The Mar-A-Lago and the Westchester are made with all natural whole leaf tea and organic ingredients. Each premium tea blend is packaged in a luxury black keepsake tin with gold embossed detail. Each tin is filled with silky pyramid sachets of the select teas. “Trump Tea is a luxury experience from the moment you open the tin to the first sip from your cup,” says Shane Talbott, founder of Talbott Teas. The Trump Tea collection will be available at select retailers this fall.
