Getting Haute for the Emmys: Hair and Makeup

Cristophe Salon, where the magic happens.
Today the Primetime Emmy Awards are the go to party of the night. I’ve taken my nap, gotten my mani/pedi, done the morning exercise.
Now it’s on to the luxury portion of our program.
For hair and makeup I went over to the Cristophe Salon on Beverly Drive — the flagship of the hair stylist’s empire and favorite of celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, and Nicole Kidman.

Herve Onossian was my hair stylist — a calm, collected and handsome Frenchman who has been working with Christophe for ten years. He also recently had his first art exhibition downtown — which runs through September 4th. I showed him a photo of my dress — think 60/70’s Valley of the Dolls-ish. Herve gave me an updated version of the aforementioned Patty Duke/Sharon Tate looks from the film, with a dash of Catherine Deneuve. Suffice to say, it is très très fantastique!
Once I had the hair coiffed I moved on to Thierry Pourtoy – yes, another Frenchman – to take care of le visage. I’m a flincher, but this did not phase Pourtoy, who has worked with Christophe for nearly twenty years as a makeup artist. His celebrity clients include Paris Hilton, Nicky and Kathy Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlize Theron, Salma Hayek, David Duchovny’s other half, Tea Leoni.

Now it’s off to the Governor’s Ball.
