Quiksilver Now Vending at The Standard

Press B4 for Fritos. Press D6 for M&M’s. Press F2 for swimwear. Did you just say surf-inspired swimwear from a vending machine? Totally, dude. Back the snack cart up because this is not a snack attack, but a sweet craving of a new wave. Quiksilver will be selling its board short collection and exclusive products through poolside vending machines at The Standard.

Following a raved-about bi-coastal partnership last summer, Quiksilver and The Standard have teamed up once again and created four new custom-designed Standard Board Shorts by Quiksilver. If you’re hungry for more beach attire, you can take your pick from new Standard Sunglasses by Quiksilver, a reversible Standard Bikini by Quiksilver, and Shiseido sunscreen, because SPF is a modern day Fountain of Youth.

The limited-edition retro Standard Board Shorts by Quiksilver, $75, were influenced by each Standard property’s respective color identities. Each style comes in 16-inch and 18-inch lengths and is made with Quiksilver’s Diamond Dobby technology for a no rash, perfect stretch, ultra-light weight, and quick-to-dry material so you can perform at your ultimate best in-water and relay board riding’s youthful, active, casual, and free flowing essence out of the water.

Also available are the Standard Bikini by Quiksilver, $88, a gorgeous custom yellow-and-white convertible bikini; the Standard Sunglasses by Quiksilver, $88, sleek unisex shades complete with Quiksilver signature black-and-red checkered print; and The Standard logo; and Shiseido’s Refreshing Sun Spray for Hair/Body SPF 16, $28, and an SPF 38 Face Cream, $32.

To highlight these pool-time goodies, artist, photographer, and film-maker Cheryl Dunn produced a short film celebrating the ultimate surfing backdrop, Costa Rica, which can be viewed on the vending machine’s interface and soon on The Standard Hotel’s website, www.standardhotels.com.

With vending machines already in place at The Standard, Downtown LA and The Standard, New York, this revolutionary sales tactic is sure to go swimmingly at The Standard, Hollywood and The Standard Spa, Miami Beach. Whether this summer’s sizzling soirees take you to Los Angeles, Miami, or New York, Quicksilver and The Standard have all of your summer staples available in munchie form, and online at www.shopthestandard.com and www.quiksilver.com.

And if your travels do take you to one of these haute cities, don’t miss the opportunity to stay at one of André Balazs’ distinct properties, The Standard, Hollywood on the Sunset Strip, Downtown, LA, where you’ll take in an unbelievable view from its roof-top pool, The Standard Spa in Miami, featuring its holistic and hydrotherapy spa – a local favorite – on the Biscayne Bay, and Balazs’ newest addition to his expanding collection, The Standard, New York, located on Manhattan’s thriving Meatpacking district.

To celebrate the collaboration in true Quiksilver and Standard spirit, The Standard Spa in Miami will host a pool party flowing with live music, Brazilian barbecue, Ping Pong, pool games, mud lounge, photobooth, stand-up paddle boarding, and more on Sunday, July 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the midst of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM. RSVP to Leigh@NadineJohnson.com.

Haute Living’s inner surfer is stoked.
