On our Haute 100 New York list is Carolina Herrera, the designer who will open another store with her timeless designs on the famed Madison Avenue and who recently launched the perfect summertime fragrance.

What Made Her Haute: Best known for her classic minimalist designs and for having served as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ personal stylist for over a decade, Herrera’s design house epitomizes the essence of timeless, classic style. Last year, she received the Council of Fashion Designers of America Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement award.

What Makes Her Haute Now: With talks of Sarah Palin’s recently engaged daughter, Bristol Palin, planning to wear one of the designer’s gowns for her future wedding, Herrera will hopefully grace the bride-to-be with one her coveted designs during the happy day. As the go-to designer for wedding and evening gowns, Herrera has become one of the most recognized names in fashion. Leila Khalil, famed wedding planner, chose Herrera as her dress of choice during her exchange of vows with Tony Lewis earlier this year. Herrera is also credited as one of the designers who is leading the retail revitalization on Madison Avenue with her international label and will open up a second store on the street, CH by Carolina Herrera. Recently, the Carolina Herrera Flagship Boutique at CityCenter teamed up with Candela Controls Inc. to build a storefront used to showcase a large-scale video display which is designed to coordinate with the architecture of the Las Vegas building. The dynamic design took come the ARCHI-TECH AV Award for 2010. The designer has also launched a fragrance in full bloom called CH Garden Party; the summer version is limited edition and characterized with flavors such as lemon and jasmine.
