Haute Living Miami Dec/Jan 2012
Unwind at Rik Rak Salon Boutique & Bar

We could all use a little indulgence now and then. For some, that means a hearty meal, or a pair of sexy new shoes; but for others, that means a day of beauty, where you can kick off your heels and enjoy a day of relaxation, R&R, and first-class pampering.

Certainly Miami has its share of salons and spas, but we’ve found the ultimate in enjoyment at Rik Rak salon located in Downtown. The atmosphere at this luxurious haute spot is boisterous, always bustling with men, women, and the occasional child. And this summer Rik Rak has a great selection of treatments perfect for rejuvenation during these unbearably balmy days.

Treat yourself to the Maha Conga Facial, a tropical fruit full body treatment that uses fresh fruits to invigorate and nurture your skin. The treatment starts off with a deep pore cleansing facial (customized for your skin type), which helps to detoxify from impurities and improve the tone and texture of skin. This complete facial includes cleansing, toning, exfoliation, steaming, extracting, massaging, masking, and is finished with a hydrating moisturizer. A natural avocado mask provides a rich source of vitamin A, B, D, and E, which penetrates your skin leaving it even, smooth, and moisturized. Finally, the Maha Conga facial is finished with natural cucumber eye pads to help reduce swelling around your peepers. At only $145, this treatment lasts one hour and thirty minutes; just enough time to escape from the troubles of everyday life and return fresh faced.

But if that is not enough, then we suggest trying the Signature Miami Mojito Pedicure. Dip your feet in a warm, lemon and lime soaked bath to clean and condition. Before you begin to prune, the nail technicians apply a sugar and mint scrub to exfoliate and clear away dead skin cells. And we don’t doubt you will love the leg and foot massage with a cool and hydrating lime lotion—which is enriched with essential oils to soften and stimulate your skin. Paint your toes with any one of Rik Rak’s choice of brilliantly hued polishes. The Mojito Pedicure lasts one hour and fifteen minutes and will cost you $65—trust us, this comforting treatment is worth every penny.

Rik Rak Salon Boutique & Bar is located at 1428 Brickell Avenue. For appointments call 305.371.5577, or visit www.rikraksalon.com for more information. And they also have two other locations: one inside the Sports Club LA at 1441 Brickell Avenue, and the Rik Rak Beauty Bungalow inside the Sagamore Hotel at 1671 Collins Avenue.
